Imagine! is the exciting new Postgraduate Research Photography Competition. This competition gives postgraduate students at the University of Canterbury the opportunity to enter and showcase their research-related photography. The aim of the competition is not only to find excellent photographs, but also to find photographs that capture the essence of the exciting postgraduate research that is happening at the University. Any postgraduate student enrolled at the University of Canterbury is eligible to enter Imagine! with a maximum of three entries per person.

Entries for Imagine! 2006 closed on 29 September 2006.
Photographs were displayed as part of UC Postgraduate Showcase! held on the 18th October 2006. Photographs were judged during the course of the day, and the winners were announced that evening at the Showcase! Awards.
The 2006 winners were:
First place: Michael Langton
Runners-up: Carolyn Wood and Jason Wong Xing-Wei
