Foundry Card Terms and Conditions
The purpose of Foundry Card is to offer benefits to our regular Foundry Customers. In applying for a Foundry Card, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Your continued use of the card is bound by these terms and conditions.
General Terms and Conditions
1. Membership is only available to people aged 18 years and over who are enrolled students at the University of Canterbury. In applying for the card you must present identification to confirm both your age and status as a currently enrolled student.
2. The Foundry Card is only operational in the year of issue and while the member remains enrolled as a student at the University of Canterbury.
3. Foundry Card will incur a membership fee which is non refundable and the card will expire at 5pm, 31 December each year.
4. Your Foundry Card is issued by and remains the property of the University of Canterbury Students’ Association Incorporated (“UCSA”). UCSA reserves the right, at any time without notice, to:
a. Terminate the Foundry Card and Foundry Card programme;
b. Decline to issue Foundry cards;
c. On reasonable grounds, withdraw or cancel Foundry Cards and/or alter or amend the conditions of operation of the Foundry Card programme;
d. Require the surrender or return of the card;
e. Change the level and type of specials and discounts offered
5. Reasonable grounds include:
a. Any abuse or attempted abuse of the Foundry Card programme, or
b. Any use or attempted use of a Foundry Card in a manner which is contrary to these terms and conditions; or
c. Any reasonable suspicion of dishonesty on the part of a customer in connection with the scheme.
d. Change in operational circumstances
6. Foundry Card is not transferable, and can only be used by the person whose signature appears on the card. Staff may, at time of purchase, ask to verify that the person being served is in fact the person who the Foundry Card has been issued to.
7. Members may be removed from the programme at any time at the discretion of UCSA.
8. Foundry Card is valid for use only in The Foundry Bar at UCSA, 90 Ilam Road, Ilam, Christchurch.
9. Possession of a Foundry Card does not guarantee access, service or access to functions within the Foundry Bar or any other UCSA bar or function. The right of bar admission and service is reserved by UCSA.
10. Foundry Card is not a suitable proof of age or Identification for entry to the Foundry Bar.
11. For special promotions or special events other terms and conditions may apply.
Foundry Card Special Product Discounts
1. You must present your Foundry Card at the point of sale prior to ordering products to receive Foundry Card specials and discounts. A No card no specials & discounts policy applies.
2. The Foundry Card specials and discounts are intended only for personal consumption.
3. The Foundry Card specials and discounts are only available in the Foundry Bar. They are not available in another UCSA bar or location.
4. Foundry Card specials and discounts are not available at special UCSA events e.g. End of Lectures Tea Party, Orientation, Re Orientation, Grad Ball or when notified.
5. Foundry Card specials and discounts are not available with the use of a “bar tab”, charge accounts, student functions, private commercial functions, catering, club events, split transactions or the purchase of commercial quantities.
6. Foundry Card specials and discounts do not apply to food or cigarettes.
7. Foundry Card specials and discounts are not available in the form of cash refunds.
8. Foundry Card specials and discounts are off Recommended Retail Prices.
UCSA Is Not Liable For
a. Any delay in replacing a Foundry Card;
b. The cost of a replacement card
c. Any stolen, mislaid, lost, destroyed or damaged Foundry Card;
d. The suspension and/or termination of the Foundry Card programme.
Terms Subject To Change
Please check these terms and conditions, as posted on the UCSA website, periodically, as they may be subject to change. Continuing to use your Foundry Card after any changes to the terms and conditions indicates your acceptance of those changes.
Foundry Card And Your Privacy
1. UCSA collects and holds personal information in accordance with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1993. Your personal information is collected so that we can provide you with the benefits of having a Foundry Card. UCSA may use your details from the application form, along with details on how and when you use your Foundry Card to:
a. Determine relevant product offers;
b. Understand members habits to improve service;
c. If you consent we will contact you with special offers, discounts and information about products and services (by mail or email) that may be of interest to you.
2. You can opt into or out of receiving offers at any time by emailing foundry@ucsa.canterbury.ac.nz and typing “Unsubscribe Foundry Card” in the subject line.
3. You have the right to access and correct personal information, and can do this by emailing,
foundry@ucsa.canterbury.ac.nz and typing “Personal Information Request” in the subject line.
4. Your legal name must be used on all applications.
