UCSA Perks

The UCSA funds a 'Borrow-a-Bike' scheme on campus. Any UC student can borrow one by coming to the UCSA office and signing it out. You’ll need to return it by 5pm Monday to Thursday or 4.30pm on Fridays. It's that easy!

Come see us in UCSA's Reception, Level 2 of Haere-roa during buisness hours to grab one. Please note that we now charge a $27 bond, but if you return the calculator within two days, you'll be refunded.

Payment is by Eftpos only

Our system only works if you bring the calculator back on time so other students are able to borrow it.

Te Pātaka – the student hub located in Puaka-James Hight – can also sticker your personal calculator, Monday to Friday.

Forgot your phone or laptop charger? The Dr Tech Charger Library is live! To hire a charger for free, bring your UC ID to the UCSA reception.

NB: While there are more than one of most chargers, hiring out chargers will be done on a first-in-first-served basis. Chargers will be loaned for a maximum of four hours, and will need to be swapped for your UC ID.

Drop your laundry off at UCSA’s reception on the second floor of Haere-roa. Items can be handed in before 10am, with collection before 5pm.

If you're caught without, ask for a tampon or pad! 

If you experience menstruation/periods, you will have probably had a time (or two, or three) when you needed a tampon or pad, but you couldn't find one in your bag. 

Well, the UCSA is here to help with the Menstruation Emergency service. 

All you have to do is visit UCSA reception (level two, Haere-roa) and say you'd like some tampons/pads. If you prefer, you can say “I have a M.E.” instead. One of our respectful and discreet staff will sort you out. It’s that easy. 

We have both regular and super varieties available. Every pack contains two products, and the tampon pack includes a panty liner as well. 

Prefer menstrual cups?

Together with the UCSA, Uni Pharmacy brings you My Cup Menstrual Cups. 

MyCupTM menstrual cups are made in NZ, designed for all flows, and are vegan. They are made from Medical Grade Silicone, are animal cruelty free, and help contribute to environmental and social responsibilities. 

Free Kiko CupTM menstrual cups are available to approved UC students only. Call into the Uni Pharmacy to find out more.

We have eight tennis racquets that can be borrowed from UCSA reception (perfect for UC's tennis court on Ilam Fields). Equipment can be loaned during the day (Monday to Friday), night, or over the weekend. Each borrower may only take two racquets and two balls at any one time. To borrow the tennis equipment you must fill out the registration form and leave your student ID.
