Fabel & UCSA Join Forces

The UCSA is pleased to announce the involvement of Fabel Events in its student events from next year. The locally-owned event management team has been engaged to produce the core events on the UCSA calendar from 2010.

Fabel Events, which is owned and operated by James Meharry and Karyn South, has a reputation for producing some of the South Island’s top events, including Cheap as Chips, Sounday, Peregrine Winery Events, and The Main Divide at Pegasus Bay. Fabel has also run tours for many of New Zealand’s top acts.

UCSA President Steve Jukes says, “Fabel have the experience and contacts in the industry we are looking for. They have been very successful at creating great events so far and have a strong affinity with the student market.  We are looking forward to working with them and producing some phenomenal events”.

“We are excited to be working with the UCSA. Our aim is to help make the campus more vibrant by lifting the quality of its events,” says Karyn South.

The UCSA will continue to be the promoter of the events, with Fabel working in the capacity of event manager. Together, they aim to re-shape UCSA events with phenomenal production and performance at key moments throughout the student calendar.

This will include the Fabel team turning its skills and experience toward the following events: Orientation, Graduation Ball, the Mid-Year Orientation, end-of-term celebrations (Tea Party), and the International Festival.

“Brilliant entertainment and great value for money will be the desired outcome for all key events ,” says James Meharry.

The longest recorded flight of a chicken is 13 seconds. That doesn't really have anything to do with the UCSA, but it's pretty cool.

Use natural products and pure soaps to clean your house. White vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice etc. Otherwise buy the NZ made eco-friendly products. Chemical-free cleaners are better for the earth and better for your health.
